Wicked, a musical based on the witches in The Wizard of Oz, is currently running in London's West End.
The book has been translated into well over 40 different languages. In some cases, the story has been adapted to suit the local culture.
For instance, in some Hindu countries, the Tin Woodman was replaced with a snake for religious reasons.
